The floweres will be transported across the U.S throughout this seassion.The plaplants common name comes from joel poinset,the first U.S.ambassador to Mexico,who introduced plant to the U.S.in 1825.The showy "flowers" are actually combination of bracts and cyathia.The bracts,which are modified leaves,appear to be colorful petals and the cyathia,which are the true floweres,create the yellow centre.Also known as nochebuena meaning "good-night, the poinsettia is a poppular christmas decoration.
